I didn't
prepare my 2006 visit to Guatemala like I did my previous trips. I knew
where I wanted to go, but I didn't make reservations or set an
itinerary in advance. This was possible because Guatemala enjoys a
tremendous transportation network, and there is always "room for one
more." I focused my time in Guatemala on the Northern province of El Petén. It is the largest province in Guatemala, and consists mainly of sparsely populated jungle. Guatemala is an affordable and easy-to-reach destination where you will experience ancient and modern Mayan culture. There is some discomfort involved in a trip to Guatemala (not least the sight of chidren working), but you will come back with good photos and great memories. The photos are copyright free for any decent use. Practical information can be found on the last page of the travelogue. |
