 The
spa town of Baños is the most touristic spot in Ecuador. It is a
fine
little town surrounded by mountains, including an active volcano, the
Tungurahua. Baños is the departing point to the Oriente region
and the
Amazon basin.
Areas of cloud forest can be found around and above Baños. The cloud forest is a cold, clammy jungle. It is an incredibly muddy environment. |

 From
Baños, you can easily rent a bicycle and ride downhill for
hours,
enjoying many waterfalls all the way to the spectacular Devil's Bucket,
El Pailón Del Diablo. This waterfall is thousands of feet lower
than
Baños, and located in a rain forest area.
