My 2003 trip to Perú
was like
two discoveries in one: I spent half my time in the crisp and
aristocratic
air of the Andes, and the other half in the humid and indolent Amazon
basin.
Perú was just what I expected, except more so. I didn't experience surprise as much as deep fulfillment. If you love warm hearted people, awe-inspiring ruins, and pristine nature, then Perú is for you. It is not very far, and, from the East Coast of the US, you won't even suffer from jet-lag. The photos are copyright free for any decent use. Links to the travel agencies that I used, and some practical information can be found on the last page of the travelogue. Oliver Hazan
